![]() This concerns me.Ĥ) I’m not going to rule out a hard left turn But while I don’t think we’re going to have another repeat of the Auction House fiasco, I have to believe that Blizzard is going to try some kind of new monetization format, which could….end up in another Auction House fiasco, even if it’s not exactly the same kind of thing. Buy the game, play the game, buy an expansion, play the expansion, repeat. In a perfect world, Diablo 4 would just pick off where Diablo 3 left off. So what does that mean for a potential Diablo 4? I am concerned about whatever Blizzard has planned here. There wasn’t a good way to keep charging players to play it. I have a feeling that Diablo 3 support lessened for a similar reason. Starcraft has faded away in part because there was no great way to monetize it post-launch. Hearthstone, Overwatch and Heroes of the Storm all have loot boxes. ![]() It’s 2018, and a company like Blizzard can no longer simply be content with selling a lot of copies of a game. 3) They’re going to have to monetize it somehow
